DRAMATIC READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE—JULY 4

In the tradition of the National Archives, the Pacific Grove Rotary Club will present our 4th Annual Dramatic Reading of the Declaration of Independence as part of Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce’s 4th of July Hometown BBQ. The Declaration is read by local actors playing the parts of Benjamin Franklin (Ron Cohen), Thomas Jefferson (Rotarian Travis Long), and John Adams (Rotarian Mitchell Davis).  The reading takes place at Caledonia Park, Central Avenue, behind the Pacific Grove Post Office, at 11am.

In the last few years, attendance has grown for this event. As far as we know, we have the only dramatic reading of the Declaration in our area. We are grateful to the actors, who donate their time and talent, and to Pacific Repertory Theatre, who helps with our costumes. We invite everyone to come on the 4th of July for what will be a great start to an Independence Day celebration.
