I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program) is a program of Shelter Outreach Plus that offers single men shelter, food, and assistance though the continued support of over 60 Monterey County churches, synagogues, temples and community organizations.

I-HELP operates two separate programs, one in Salinas and one on the Peninsula. Each evening, the I-HELP vans transport the men from central pick-up points in Salinas and Monterey to a host church where they spend the night and get a hot meal as well as individualized support. By day, I-HELP’s case managers aid the men in job placement and housing assistance, clothing, support and referrals.

Pacific Grove Rotary members make dinner for I-HELP program recipients once every two months. Our dinner takes place at St. Angela’s Church in Pacific Grove. Our members also donate clothes and toiletries for the men.

I-HELP has never missed a night of offering services for the homeless in its 17 years of operation. For more information, go to www.shelteroutreachplus.org. Pacific Grove Rotary is proud to be associated with this very worthy program.
